Woah! There are a lot of people out there with a lot of free time. (Thing 9)

Which method of finding feeds did you find easiest to use? Google and Bloglines
Which Search tool was the easiest for you? Google is familiar to me. I like that I can access blogs through keyword searches, but I think that kids could get lost if trying to peruse through too many options. Some blogs that I connected to were not ones I would want students to access in the first place, so this might make my job harder when teaching kids to research. I know that they need to know how to cut through all of the sources, but this might be too overwhelming for an elementary student.
Which was more confusing? Ok Syndic8 seems a bit too "underground" for me. I can see where you could stumble accross a blog meant just for you here, but combing through the masses...tedious! It also seemed a bit slow.
What kind of useful feeds did you find in your travels? Or what kind of unusual ones did you find? I like Cool Cat teacher and she has articles that lead to other worthy blogs. I think she is in my circle of the wise. So far my circle is small. I also like the feeds to familiar news sources like NYTimes. I came across a conservative movie blog that posts a different conservative movie each week. It also seemed to sway heavily to the NRA side of things. A bit too opinionated for a clssroom setting if you ask me. I was just searching for Alamo related info.
This has definitely been a lesson in how to judge a site.
What other tools or ways did you find to locate newsfeeds? Like I said I think finding blogs through interesting articles sent to my Google reader would be most helpful tome. I am still thinking up ways for librarians to use this. I found some book reviews when I typed in an author's name which is always useful when getting kids to choose books using methods other than judging by its cover.

When I did Thing #9, I had the same thoughts - do these people have nothing else to do? When do they find the time for all this blogging! I am especially blown away by those people who post to their blog multiple times per day. I had one of these on my Google reader and once I realized this person posted up to 8 times a day, I had to delete that blog from my subscriptions! There are some good ones out there, but being a selective reader is the key!
