Out of the places I went for this Thing, Lulu has the most uses for me as a teacher. There were other sites that peeked my personal interests, like a website that is basically YouTube for Food Network Wannabes.
Anyway..about Lulu
This is a site where you can publish books, sell them and then buy(or download for free) them or other books in the program.
I downloaded a children's book about Texas history that I will use as a preview to the 4th grade social studies curriculum after our geography unit. I can give this author credit. If the book is well-liked by students, I can buy a copy for my class library. I can also make downloaded books part of a computer center. Read the book online and then post a review.:))))))
That is not all. This site also will allow for another way that my students can publish their writing. Their parents can buy a copy of the book. OR anyone else for that matter. Their books could be downloaded onto a computer and voila...a center for kids to share their writing and read a story.
